    Thomas J. Helget joined the Knudsen Law Firm as an associate in November of 2020.

    Thomas was born in Zweibrücken, Germany. The son of an Air Force captain, he and his family moved all over the country, as well as spending three years in Okinawa, Japan.  Thomas attended Creighton University where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History in 2013.  At Creighton, Thomas would meet the love of his life, his wife, Kelsey.

    In 2013, Thomas began law school at the University Of Nebraska College Of Law.  While in law school, Thomas interned with Ameritas and worked for the Lancaster County Attorney’s Office as a senior-certified law student with the Criminal Clinic program.  Thomas also was the recipient of the CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in Entertainment Law and Family Law.  The CALI Excellence Award is given to the highest scoring student in each law school class.  He received his Juris Doctorate with distinction in May 2016.

    Thomas began his law career as a Deputy Hall County Attorney in 2016, practicing in Grand Island, NE for nearly four years before the desire to return to Lincoln to be with family became too strong.

    In his free time, Thomas enjoys attending Nebraska football games, Creighton basketball games, going to movie theaters, reading books and comics, and spending time with his family.
